In a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra disclosed that during her early days in Bollywood, a director once made her feel uneasy on a movie set.
Priyanka Chopra is regarded as one of the world’s most popular actresses. The actress has effectively dominated Hollywood now that she has dazzled the audience with her talent in Bollywood. Priyanka recently disclosed she took a sabbatical from the business as a result of people pushing her “into a corner.” Now, in a recent interview, the international actress has disclosed that, in her early days in Bollywood, a director once made her feel uneasy on a movie set.
After working on the movie for two days, she allegedly decided against starring in it.
Priyanka talked about her first experiences in the business when she was interviewed by The Zoe Report. She disclosed that she had been offered a role in a movie where she would have gone undercover. She revealed how, during filming a stripping scene, the director insisted to seeing her ‘knickers’. The actor revealed, “This may have been 2002 or ’03… I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy – obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover. But I’m seducing the guy and you have to take off one piece of clothing (at a time). I wanted to layer up. The filmmaker was like, No, I need to see her underwear. Otherwise why is anybody coming to watch this movie?”
Priyanka added, “He didn’t say it to me. He said it to the stylist in front of me. It was such a dehumanizing moment. It was a feeling of, I’m nothing else outside of how I can be used, my art is not important, what I contribute is not important.” She went on to say that she quit the movie after two days. She said that her father had requested her to reimburse the production for the money they had spent. Added she, “I just couldn’t look at him every day.”
Priyanka recently disclosed in another interview that she was sick of Bollywood politics and has instead chosen to pursue a career in Hollywood. Dax Shepard heard her. “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry. I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”
Priyanka is currently taking pleasure in the compliments she is receiving for her work in Citadel. The audience has been raving about the series since its recent debut. After Citadel, the actress is currently hard at work on Heads of State, a movie that also stars John Cena and Idris Elba. Speaking about Bollywood, she will soon be able to be seen with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa.
