In which Hollywood movie friends prank everyone on phone?

Don’t Hang Up is a 2016 horror thriller film directed by Alexis Wajsbrot and written by Joe Johnson. Gregg Sulkin, Garrett Clayton, Bella Dayne, and Sienna Guillory feature in the film. The film had its global premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 4, 2016, and was released in theatres on February 10, 2017.

Is it true that teens still conduct prank phone calls? Even if they do, does anyone still answer a phone with an unknown number in the age of caller ID? “Don’t Hang Up,” an unneeded horror film based on the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” playbook, invites such inquiries.

Brady (Garrett Clayton) and his best buddy, Sam (Gregg Sulkin), are part of a group of teenagers who entertain themselves by making prank calls, which they film and upload online, resulting in viral outcomes. How can we best prevent young people from engaging in such mindless cruelty? Of course, turn the tables on them.

Brady and Sam get a call of their own in the middle of an epic phone call, and the man on the other end of the line has the kind of calm but ominous voice that slices through their arrogance.

What catches their interest, though, is that he appears to know all there is to know about them, including what they were doing only seconds before. Soon, he’s showing them a video of him threatening their loved ones, including Sam’s fiancée, Peyton (Bella Dayne), the only character in the film who you might care about.
