The Lazarus Effect is a supernatural horror film directed by David Gelb and written by Luke Dawson and Jeremy Slater that was released in 2015 in the United States. Mark Duplass, Olivia Wilde, Donald Glover, Evan Peters, and Sarah Bolger star in the film. Relativity Media released the film on February 27, 2015. It earned mixed reviews from reviewers, but it was a movie office hit, generating $38 million worldwide on a $3 million budget.

On December 17, 2013, Lionsgate announced that the picture (then titled Lazarus) will be released on January 30, 2015, and that the film would be distributed by Lionsgate. Relativity Media purchased the picture from Lionsgate on November 4, 2014, and set the release date for February 20, 2015. The film was renamed The Lazarus Effect in December 2014, and it was revealed that it would be released a week later than anticipated, on February 27, 2015.

The picture debuted at number five in North America with $10,203,437 in its first weekend, trailing Focus, Kingsman: The Secret Service, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, and Fifty Shades of Grey.

A terrible and terrifying thriller about a guy who has lost everything he’s ever loved, and to reclaim his life and family, he must overcome supernatural obstacles, suffer innumerable tests of faith, struggle with his sanity, and explore the depth and force of his soul.
