In which Hollywood movie do soldiers have to hold off terrorist attacks?

Michael Bay directed and produced 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which was written by Chuck Hogan and is based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s 2014 book of the same name. At the 89th Academy Awards, the film received an Oscar nomination for Best Sound Mixing.

After waves of militant attacks on September 11, 2012, six members of the Annex Security Team struggled to defend the American embassy facility in Benghazi, Libya. James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Pablo Schreiber, Max Martini, David Denman, and Dominic Fumusa lead in the picture, which also has Toby Stephens, Alexia Barlier, and David Costabile in supporting parts.

Filming in Malta and Morocco began on April 27, 2015. The film, dubbed ‘the Benghazi movie,’ was released by Paramount Pictures on January 15, 2016. 13 Hours was Bay’s lowest-earning film to date, grossing $69 million worldwide against a production budget of $50 million, and receiving mixed reviews from critics.

While the acting performances, action sequences, and grim tone of the picture were praised, the script was penned for historical inaccuracies. Many people criticized Bay’s emphasis on over-the-top action, but others praised it as one of his most mature and realistic films.
