Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a 1992 American comedy film written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. It is the sequel to the 1990 film Home Alone and the second installment in the Home Alone franchise. Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, Tim Curry, Brenda Fricker, and Catherine O’Hara are among the cast members. It follows Kevin McCallister (Culkin) during his holiday vacation in New York City, where he is isolated from his family.

After negotiating a six-picture agreement with 20th Century Fox, Hughes finished writing the film in February 1991. Culkin’s return was announced in May, followed by the announcement of the remainder of the cast. The film was shot on location in Illinois and New York, particularly at the Rockefeller Center and the original World Trade Center, between December 1991 and May 1992.
