On July 23, 2021, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins will be released in theatres. The Covid-19 pandemic forced studio Paramount to postpone the film by a complete year, to October 2021, by the spring of 2020. Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins is a 2021 Hollywood superhero movie directed by Robert Schwentke from a script by Evan Spiliotopoulos, Joe Shrapnel, and Anna Waterhouse.

Based on Hasbro’s G.I. Joe franchise and motivation from the comic book sequence, the movie assists as a source tale for the label character, shaped by Larry Hama, in totaling to being a restart of the G.I. Joe movies sequence. It stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, with Andrew Koji, Úrsula Corberó, Samara Weaving, Haruka Abe, Takehiro Hira, and Iko Uwais in supporting roles.

The project was first revealed in May 2018, with Golding being cast in the lead part in August 2019 and the rest of the cast following in the months after. Reshoots took held in March 2021 after original filming in Vancouver and Japan from October 2019 to February 2020.

Paramount Pictures released Snake Eyes in theatres on July 23, 2021, in the United States. Critics gave the picture mixed reviews, praising the performers and production qualities but criticizing the screenplay, editing, and direction of the action scenes. With a $88 million budget and a $160–175 million break-even mark, the picture was a box-office flop, collecting only $40 million worldwide.
