After years of anticipation, Shraddha Kapoor’s much-awaited film Nagin is finally set to go on floors. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti 2025, producer Nikhil Dwivedi shared a major update, giving fans a glimpse of the project’s progress.
Taking to Instagram Stories on January 14, 2025, Dwivedi posted a photograph of the film’s script, titled Nagin: An Epic Tale of Love & Sacrifice. The script bore the mention “Created & Developed by SAFFRON Magicworks,” and was adorned with marigold flowers, symbolizing the beginning of an auspicious journey. Captioning the picture, Nikhil wrote, “Makar Sankranti & Finally..,” hinting that the film is ready to begin production.
The Nagin trilogy will feature Shraddha Kapoor in the titular role of a shape-shifting serpent, a character deeply rooted in Indian folklore. The film has been in development since 2020, when Shraddha expressed her excitement about playing such an iconic role. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she shared, “It’s an absolute delight for me to play a Naagin on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am’s Nagina and Nigahen and have always wanted to play a similar role rooted in Indian traditional folklore.”
