Sylvester Stallones, an American actor, screenwriter, director, and producer, was born on July 6, 1946. He gained his first critical praise as an actor for his co-starring part as Stanley Rosiello in The Lords of Flatbush, after laboring as a struggling actor for a number of years after coming to New York City in 1969 and then Hollywood in 1974.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a 2017 American superhero film directed by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team Guardians of the Galaxy. It is the 15th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
Before the theatrical release of the first film, the sequel was formally announced during the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con International, along with James Gunn’s return, with the title of the sequel revealed a year later in June 2015. Due to prior obligations, principal photography began in February 2016 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayette County, Georgia, with several crew changes from the first film.
It was the eighth-highest-earning film of 2017, grossing more than $863 million worldwide and outcrossing its predecessor. Although some reviews thought it was inferior to the original, the film won plaudits for its aesthetics, director, soundtrack, humor, and acting.
At the 90th Academy Awards, it was nominated for Best Visual Effects. On May 5, 2023, a sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, will be published, followed by a Disney+ special, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, in December 2022.
