Which is Val Kilmer’s highest-grossing film?

Val Edward Kilmer is an American actor who was born on December 31, 1959. Kilmer rose to prominence with roles in comedies such as Top Secret! (1984) and Real Genius (1985), as well as the military action film Top Gun (1986) and the fantasy feature Willow (1988).

Top Gun is a 1986 Hollywood action drama movie directed by Tony Scott and produced in conjunction with Paramount Pictures by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr. wrote the screenplay, which was based on an article called ‘Top Guns’ that appeared in California magazine three years prior.

The film was an instant hit, becoming the highest-grossing film of 1986. It would be six months before the number of theatres showing the film fell below that in its first week. It debuted at number one with a gross of $8,193,052 on its first weekend and went on to earn total domestic revenue of US$176,781,728. It grossed an estimated US$177,030,000 internationally, for a worldwide box office total of US$353,811,728. During its initial theatrical run in North America, the film sold an estimated 47,650,100 tickets. In its IMAX re-release in 2013, the film earned an additional US$3,018,873, increasing it is domestic gross to US$179,800,601 and it’s worldwide gross to US$356,830,601.
