Soniya Mehra is an Indian Bollywood actress and the daughter of actor Vinod Mehra. She was born on December 2, 1988. She is most known for her role in Ragini MMS 2 as Tanya Kapoor.
Mehra is the third and final child of actor Vinod Mehra and his third wife Kiran. When her father died in October 1990, she was less than two years old. Her maternal grandparents raised her and her brother, Rohan, in Kenya.
Soniya Mehra completed her studies in London after attending The Mombasa Academy in Mombasa, Kenya. She began her acting studies at the age of eight, and in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art Acting Examinations, she received a Gold Medal with Honors.
She moved to Mumbai when she was 18 and enrolled in Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares – The School of Actors for a three-month program. Mehra is a trained dancer who began ballet at the age of five and has since performed in a variety of styles including street jazz, ballroom, Bollywood dance, Kathak, hip hop, and belly dancing.
She made her acting debut in 2007 with the release of Victoria No. 203, a remake of the 1972 classic of the same name, and has since appeared in films such as Shadow (2009), Ek Main Aur Ek Tu (2012), and Ragini MMS 2 (2014).
