Mirzapur: The Movie has delivered one of the strongest Hindi openings of 2026, turning a streaming franchise into a theatrical weekend winner.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced under Excel Entertainment, the big-screen adaptation of the Prime Video crime saga opened on Friday, 4 September 2026. According to Sacnilk’s final day-wise cuts, the film collected ₹25.75 crore on Day 1, ₹32 crore on Day 2, and ₹36 crore on Day 3 — taking its opening weekend India net to ₹93.75 crore.
That Day 1 figure also made Mirzapur: The Movie Excel Entertainment’s biggest opener, surpassing Gold (₹25.25 crore).
Day-wise India net (Sacnilk)
- Day 1 (Fri): ₹25.75 Cr
- Day 2 (Sat): ₹32.00 Cr
- Day 3 (Sun): ₹36.00 Cr
- Opening weekend: ₹93.75 Cr
Trade coverage also put India gross through the weekend around ₹112 crore, with worldwide gross cited near ₹132 crore. Monday (Day 4) numbers were still building through the morning and should be treated as provisional until evening close.
Cast and context
The film reunites key faces from the series, including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu, with Jitendra Kumar stepping in as Bablu Pandit and Ravi Kishan joining the ensemble. Shweta Tripathi and other returning cast members keep the Mirzapur world familiar for longtime fans.
The release benefited from holiday-weekend energy and strong franchise anticipation — a rare OTT-to-theatre leap that audiences actually showed up for.
What next
The big question now is the weekday hold. If Monday–Thursday stay healthy, the film enters the ₹100 crore India-net conversation quickly. Movified will continue tracking collections as finals settle.
