Netflix has dropped Season 5 of Fauda worldwide today, September 8, 2026 — giving Indian and global fans of the Israeli counter-terrorism thriller their first look at the new chapter outside Israel’s Yes network premiere earlier this year.
Created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, the series returns with Raz as Doron Kavillio. According to Netflix Tudum, Season 5 is set two years after October 7, 2023: Doron is still wrestling with trauma when an old friend’s unsanctioned revenge mission in Marseille pulls him into a perilous deep-cover operation. The season asks hard questions about revenge cycles — Issacharoff has said the Arabic concept of tha’r (blood revenge) sits at the heart of the story.
The 11-episode run was directed by Omri Givon and written by a team including Issacharoff, Raz, Omri Shenhar, Sari Azoulay Turgeman, Givon, Yona Rozenkier and Nir Berger. Returning faces include Doron Ben-David as Hertzel “Steve” Pinto and Yaakov Zada Daniel as Eli, with French star Mélanie Laurent joining as Anne and Hakim Djaziri as Saeed. Creators have been open that the October 7 attacks forced a full rewrite of Season 5 scripts. Raz told Tudum the season is less about reenacting that day than placing the show’s characters inside its aftermath — including Doron in therapy for PTSD before life pulls him back into the field. Two episodes unfold on October 7 itself; Issacharoff has described writing those chapters as emotionally punishing work.
