Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s spy thriller Alpha is still punching above its weight on Netflix. Trade tracker Sacnilk reports the YRF Spy Universe film had logged 8.5 million views by the end of its second weekend on the platform, putting it joint 10th among Bollywood titles released on Netflix from 2024 onwards — level with Saiyaara at the same 8.5 million mark.
The figure sits just behind several bigger streaming names: Dunki is at 9.1 million, Bhooth Bangla at 9.6 million and Shaitaan at 9.8 million, while fifth-placed Mardaani 3 is a wider 2.2 million views ahead. At the top of that samAlpha also held No. 2 on Netflix India’s Top 10 Movies chart for the week of August 31 to September 6, its second straight week in the list. Gandhari debuted at No. 1, Dhamaal 4 opened at No. 3, and Newton’s 3rd Law shared Alpha’s two-week Top 10 run at No. 4. Longer-running holdovers included Cocktail 2 (four weeks, No. 8), Pyaar Prema Kalyanam (three weeks, No. 9) and Gatta Kusthi 2, which remains the chart’s endurance champion at six weeks in the No. 10 spot.
Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films, Alpha stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol as the newest chapter in the YRF Spy Universe — an origin story of a young woman raised and trained to kill. After its theatrical run, the film moved to Netflix and has now converted that digital window into a sustained Top 10 presence, a meaningful streaming afterlife for a star-led Hindi actioner in a crowded September slate.
