Netflix has locked a streaming date for Suriya’s family drama Vishwanath & Sons. The Venky Atluri film, which opened in theatres on August 14 and is still playing, will premiere on the platform on Friday, September 11, in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
The streamer’s announcement frames Suriya’s character with a clean one-liner: meet Sanjay Vishwanath — athlete, billionaire, philanthropist and a loving father. Director Venky Atluri and Netflix shared the same premiere note, pointing viewers toward the film under Netflixs South Indian catalogue (search “Southverse”).
That digital window arrives while the theatrical run is still earning. According to the makers, Vishwanath & Sons has crossed ₹260 crore worldwide after completing 25 days in cinemas, making it the second Suriya starrer of 2026 to clear the ₹250 crore global mark after Karuppu. For audiences who missed the big-screen window — or want a second watch the Netflix date is the cleanest answer.
Suriya plays Sanjay Vishwanath, a driven shooter whose carefully ordered life starts to tilt under age, family responsibility and an unexpected romance. Mamitha Baiju co-stars as his love interest, with Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in key roles. The film is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas; Atluri previously delivered Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar.
Raveena’s turn also marks a notable Tamil comeback — her first appearance in the industry since 2001’s Aalavandhan. Paired with Suriya’s star pull and Atluri’s crowd-pleasing register, the package has already proved it can travel beyond core Tamil markets through dubbed releases.
