The makers of Udta Teer have unveiled a quirky first-look poster that instantly sets the film apart from straight-faced spy fare. Ayushmann Khurrana lounges in a hammock strung between India and Pakistan border milestones, a “Top Secret” file on his chest and a goat in sunglasses for company — a visual that leans into satire rather than swagger.
The poster’s Hindi tagline — “Deshbhakti Yaad Hai Par Desh Nahi” — has already sparked chatter about the film’s tone. Instead of chest-thumping nationalism, the Dharma–Sikhya project frames itself as a playful spy-comedy that needles cross-border tropes and the gap between performative patriotism and lived reality. Trade reports and early coverage place the film firmly in the humour-driven lane, with chaos and comic set-pieces at the centre.
Udta Teer reunites Ayushmann with Sara Ali Khan after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. Writer-director Akash A Kaushik makes his feature debut here. The film is presented by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, with Raunaq Bajaj as co-producer. Sony Music is on board as music partner; Netflix and Star Gold are attached for the post-theatrical window.
According to Bollywood Hungama, a major chunk of the film was shot in 2024, and the late Mukul Dev filmed a substantial track opposite Ayushmann — a face-off described as both funny and action-packed. That detail adds an emotional undercurrent to an otherwise light-footed promotional roll-out.
The theatrical date is locked for October 9, 2026, worldwide — a week after Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion opens on October 2. With one month of promotions left, expect trailers and songs to flesh out how far the border-hammock gag goes. For now, the first poster does exactly what a first poster should: it makes you curious, and a little amused.
