We have a long history of espionage thriller films; spy films are presently popular in the Indian film industry, and there are a few good spy films from the 1950s and 1960s.
1. CID (1956): Raj Khosla directs CID, an action thriller film. Dev Anand played a Police Inspector investigating the assassination of a newspaper editor who was ready to expose the Underworld in the film.
2. Farz (1967): Farz is a Ravikant Nagaich-directed spy thriller featuring Jeetendra as an Indian secret agent. Jeetendra is tasked with investigating the assassination of a fellow secret agent.
3. Aankhen (1968): Ramanand Sagar directed Aankhen, a 1968 Bollywood spy thriller film. Aankhen was an unexpected box office success at the time, and it is still a popular picture today. Like a James Bond movie, Aankhen was jam-packed with devices. This film starred Dharmendra in the lead role.
