When was the Andaaz movie released?

Andaaz is a love musical film directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Suneel Darshan that was released in India in 2003. It stars Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta (Miss Universe 2000), and Priyanka Chopra (Miss World 2000). Robin Bhatt, Shyam Goel, and Jainendra Jain wrote it. Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra make their Bollywood film debut in this film.

On May 23, 2003, Andaaz was released in theatres. The film was a box office hit, grossing Rupees 288 million against an initial budget of Rupees 80 million. It was the year’s ninth-highest-grossing Indian film. It garnered five nominations at the 49th Filmfare Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Chopra and Best Female Debut for Dutta and Chopra. Dutta won the Screen Award for Best Female Debut, which was nominated for both actresses.

Andaaz was shot mainly in Cape Town, South Africa, and the film’s key selling point, according to Darshan, was that it marked the acting debut of two beauty queens together for the first time. Nadeem–Shravan composed the music, and Sameer wrote the lyrics. The soundtrack was a major hit, selling 2.5 million copies and becoming the year’s second best-selling Bollywood soundtrack.
