Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has opened its musical chapter on Ganesh Chaturthi. On September 14, 2026, the makers released the film’s first song, “Jai Jai Ram,” composed by A.R. Rahman, written by Kumar Vishwas, and sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal.
The track offers a glimpse into the epic’s emotional and devotional world. Visuals move from Ram and Sita’s wedding and their floral welcome in Ayodhya to quieter moments — Ram caring for King Dasharatha, immersing his father’s ashes, and the Bharat Milaap reunion. Rahman’s score keeps the feel of both a prayer and a film song, with the repeated invocation of Ram’s name at its heart.
Producer Namit Malhotra said the song comes from the personal, timeless relationship devotees share with Shri Ram — as guide, strength, and refuge — and that beginning the musical journey on Ganesh Chaturthi felt meaningful because every auspicious beginning seeks Lord Ganesha’s blessings. Rahman said the intention was to preserve the purity and intimacy of a prayer while letting the composition grow into a cinematic song. Lyricist Kumar Vishwas noted that the three simple words “Jai Jai Ram” hold a complete prayer without trying to contain Ram’s meaning in description.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravan, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. It is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations; Sony Pictures is handling global distribution outside India. Part One is scheduled for cinemas around Diwali 2026. The song drop follows the film’s global trailer launch and is available on major platforms and YouTube.
