Soori’s ‘Mandaadi’ Day 5 Box Office: ₹11.25 Cr Monday Hold; ₹62.38 Cr Worldwide

Soori’s sports action drama Mandaadi is still steering clear of the usual Monday crash. After four straight days of growth through its opening weekend, the Mathimaran Pugazhendhi film added ₹11.25 crore net in India on Day 5 (Monday, September 14) — only a 13.8% slip from Sunday’s ₹13.05 crore — according to Sacnilk figures reported by Times Now.

That Monday haul lifts the five-day India net total to ₹45.85 crore, with India gross at ₹53.63 crore. Overseas contributed another ₹1.25 crore on Day 5, taking the overseas gross to ₹8.75 crore and the worldwide gross to ₹62.38 crore. Day-wise India net so far: ₹4.85 crore (Thu), ₹6.70 crore (Fri), ₹10 crore (Sat), ₹13.05 crore (Sun), and ₹11.25 crore (Mon). Tamil led Monday with ₹9.25 crore from 2,882 shows (57% occupancy); the Telugu version added ₹2 crore from 1,068 shows.

The contrast with Karthi’s same-week release Sardar 2 is stark. The spy thriller collected ₹1.50 crore net on Day 5 — a 38.8% drop from Sunday — for a five-day India net of ₹13.10 crore and worldwide gross of ₹19.85 crore. Mandaadi’s Monday figure alone nearly matches Sardar 2’s entire India run so far.

Produced by Elred Kumar under RS Infotainment, with Vetrimaaran as creative producer, Mandaadi follows rival teams in a traditional South Indian sailboat race. Soori headlines opposite Suhas (in his Tamil debut) and Mahima Nambiar; music is by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The film opened worldwide on September 10.

With a Monday hold that still beats its first three days, Mandaadi heads into its first Tuesday looking like one of Tamil cinema’s clearer commercial surprises of the season — and a personal high-water mark for Soori’s run as a lead overall.
