Shulman. Dr. Benjamin ‘Ben’ Stone drives to Beverly Hills for a job interview with famed plastic surgeon Dr. Halberstrom after completing his medical residency in a Washington, D.C. hospital. Judge Evans owns the fence, and he is sentenced to 32 hours of community service at the town’s medical facility.

Ben is greeted by Mayor Nick Nicholson and a reception committee, who are trying to hire him to replace Dr. Aurelius Hogue, who is retiring. Ben looks after patients and flirts with Viloul, an ambulance driver with a four-year-old kid, while his 1956 Porsche Speedster is being fixed. Hank Gordon, a local insurance agent, is also courting Lou, while Nancy Lee, the mayor’s daughter, is courting Ben.

What? Dead…Again? this is the basis for the movie. About his experience as a doctor in rural Georgia, by Neil B. Shulman. He worked on the film as an associate producer. The budget for the project was $20 million. Although the tale was relocated from Georgia to South Carolina, the filming took place in the Florida villages of Micanopy and McIntosh, south of Gainesville. In Los Angeles, more filming took place.
